Management
Matthew W. Shankle President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Shankle was appointed as the Company's President effective September 11, 1998 and as a Director effective October 3, 1997 from which time he also served as a Vice President of the Company until his appointment as President. He is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the Company in conjunction with the Board of Directors. He currently is also responsible for leading the business development effort of the Company. From June 1996 to September 1997, he served as a consultant to the Company for product research and development (R&D). From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Shankle served as an operations consultant for several high tech R&D/manufacturing subsidiaries of Telxon Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Shankle was employed by Virtual Vision, Inc. as the R&D/manufacturing facility development specialist. Mr. Shankle began his career at Lockheed Missiles and Space in the San Diego area.
James P. Martindale Executive Vice President, Manufacturing and Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Martindale was appointed Vice President of Manufacturing and Technical Operations effective November 12, 2006. On February 20, 2008, Mr. Martindale was appointed Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Chief Operations Officer, and was named to the Board of Directors. He is responsible for directing the Company's product research and development and manufacturing operations. From 1999 to 2006, was employed by InFocus Digital Media. His most recent position with InFocus was Senior Director, New Business Development. He was responsible for developing and executing new business strategies leveraging InFocus' software, hardware and service assets to offer digital-media solutions to the education, corporate, and digital advertising markets. In addition to his business development role at InFocus, Mr. Martindale held senior positions in Service, Application Engineering, and Technical Sales. From 1981 to 1999, Mr. Martindale held several positions with Hewlett-Packard Co., ranging from Mechanical Engineer, to Manufacturing Development Manager for HP's Specialty Printing Systems. Mr. Martindale holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.
Gregory L. Heacock Vice President, Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer
Effective July 20, 2009, Mr. Heacock, age 49, was appointed the Company's Vice President, Research & Development and Chief Technology. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Heacock co-founded Sensor LLC, a material science development company for the medical industry and served as its Vice President, Research & Development from December 2006 to July 2009. From October 2003 to December 2006, Mr. Heacock served as Director of Engineering, Visient Division of Light Sciences Corporation, a medical research company. Mr. Heacock was also the co-founder and Chief Scientist of Retinal Technologies Inc., (now Retica Systems Inc.), a company specializing in high security biometric identification from September 2002 to September 2003. Prior to that, Mr. Heacock was the Research Fellow at eMagin Inc. (Virtual Vision) and the Research Director for Ocular Instruments Inc.
Robert C. Ridgeway Vice President, Global Business Development and Planning
On December 1, 2009, Robert Ridgeway, age 47, was appointed Vice President of Global Business Development and Planning of the Company. From July 2008 until his appointment, Mr. Ridgeway had been principally engaged as an independent contractor to the Company, providing consulting services in the areas of finance, corporate development and administration. From July 2007 to July 2008, Mr. Ridgeway provided similar consulting services to various other companies as an independent contractor. From 1985 to 2007, Mr. Ridgeway worked for Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems, a United Technologies company. During his employment with Hamilton, Mr. Ridgeway served in various capacities, including: Vice President and General Manager from 2003 to 2007; Chairman of the Board of Revima APU, a joint venture of Hamilton and EADS, from 2003 to 2007; Director of Operations from 2001 to 2003; Director, Business Development, Finance and Administration from 2000 to 2001; Chief Financial Officer from 1992 to 2000; Financial Planning Manager from 1990 to 1992 and Senior Buyer and Operations Administrator from 1985 to 1990.
Rebecca L. McCall Vice President, Accounting, Secretary to Board of Directors
Ms. McCall was appointed as the Company's Vice President of Accounting in March of 2008. She has over 23 years of accounting and finance experience, including substantial experience with SEC reporting and corporate accounting. She most recently joined the Company with the title of Controller in 1993. Ms. McCall previously had served as a senior officer of the Company from 1985 to 1990, when she was Vice President of Administration and Director of Accounting. In addition to her duties as the Company's Controller, Ms. McCall also served as Controller for College Partnership, Inc. from 2000 to 2003 and as Controller for Television Technology Corporation from 1990 to 1993. From 1993 to 2007, Ms. McCall, provided contract accounting and other services to various clients, including the Company. Ms. McCall holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.
Rick Baldacci Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Baldacci, age 60, was retained as a part-time contract Vice President of Human Resources in May of 2008. Prior to joining ADTI, Mr. Baldacci founded RNL Solutions, a Human Resources Solutions provider for small start-up corporations in 2001. From 2001 to 2005 he was a part time contract Vice President of Human Resources for a biopharmaceutical company, Light Sciences, located in Seattle, Washington. From 1993 to 2001 he co-founded Eschenbaum & Baldacci, a national executive search firm, hiring key executives for venture backed start-up companies. From 1990 to 1993 he was Vice President of Human Resources for Somatogen, a start-up biopharmaceutical company in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. Baldacci hired most of the company's executive management team and its 245 employees, established all of its policies and benefit programs, assisted in the recruitment of the Board of Directors, and assisted in the preparation of the company's successful IPO. From 1985 to 1990 Mr. Baldacci was President and CEO of an international executive search firm working for venture capital portfolio companies. From 1980 to 1985 Mr. Baldacci was Corporate Manager of Human Resources for Storage Technology Corporation (STK), managing a team of fifty three managers and representatives for all HR operations for domestic and international sales and marketing, accounting and finance, material, field service, information technology, and contract management. From 1980 to 1983 Mr. Baldacci was Employment Manager for STK. Managing a team of thirty one people, his team hired 8,700 employees in two years, taking the company employment to over 16,000. From 1976 to 1980 Mr. Baldacci was Manager of Human Resources for Cobe Laboratories, in Lakewood, Colorado. He helped in the planning, implementation, and staffing of a new manufacturing facility. From 1983 to 1986 Mr. Baldacci was Manager of Human Resources for Statitrol Corporation, an electronic smoke detector manufacturer in Lakewood, Colorado. Mr. Baldacci supervised the hiring of over 1000 employees and helped establish human resource policies, compensation, and benefit programs.
